Coastal Roots is deeply rooted in family, community, and a lifelong connection to the California coast.

I grew up on the San Mateo Coast, where my appreciation for gardens began at an early age. My father worked as a gardener, and my family comes from a long line of Mexican agricultural workers whose hard work and respect for the land continue to shape the way I approach my work today.

The name Coastal Roots reflects both the place that shaped me and the generations before me whose lives and livelihoods were rooted in the land.

Their dedication inspired me to pursue opportunities they dreamed of for future generations. I earned a master's degree in Education from UC Berkeley and spent several years serving my community as a middle school English and high school Spanish teacher.

While teaching was incredibly rewarding, I found myself continually drawn back to the outdoors. Gardening had always been more than a hobby—it was where I felt most at home. Over time, that passion grew into a calling.

Today, Coastal Roots brings together everything I've learned: a love of plants, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a commitment to creating outdoor spaces that enrich everyday life. Whether I'm designing a new landscape, solving drainage challenges, installing irrigation, or providing ongoing garden care, my goal is simple—to create gardens that are beautiful, lasting, and uniquely suited to the people who enjoy them.

It is a privilege to serve homeowners throughout Half Moon Bay and the San Mateo Coast, helping them create landscapes that will grow more beautiful with every season.
